Denise Gordy Young is an American actress, singer, and former beauty pageant winner. She was born on November 11, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, and is the younger sister of Motown Records executive Berry Gordy. Young began her career as a model and was a runner-up in the 1968 Miss Teenage America pageant. She went on to represent Michigan in the 1969 Miss USA pageant, where she finished in the top ten.
Young later turned her attention to acting and appeared in several films and television shows, including "Police Woman," "The Streets of San Francisco," and "The New Adventures of Wonder Woman." She also had a recurring role on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless." In addition to her acting career, Young is also a singer and has released several albums throughout the 2000s and 2010s.
Young is married to actor John S. Young and they reside in California. She is also actively involved in several charitable organizations, particularly those focused on animal welfare.
